BCT
designs and builds its own large, heated vacuum presses. Their overall
capability is large enough to produce one piece panels or sheets
in sizes up to 4' by 32' and 6" thick.
The
integrally heated tool faces are surfaced with a heavy weight, glass
filled, premium grade, non-porous Teflon release. Heat is supplied
to eight independently controlled zones on both the top and bottom
plates. Each plate has two adjustable 240V multiplexed power supplies,
creating plate temperatures as high as 300F.
The
entire length of the outside edges of the press are ported for even
vacuum pressure and the top and bottom plates are sealed with a
quick sealing reusable silicone boot. Clamping pressure is supplied
by a high volume, 28" HG, computer controlled, integral vacuum
pump.
A forced
air cool down is also computer controlled, minimizing any potential
for panel warping.
The
press also has a carriage system that runs its entire length for
even and precise application of plys to ensure consistent panels
and sheets.
