In
addition to machining flat parts from panels and sheets, BCT also
produces complex shaped parts manufactured from dedicated tooling.

Fabrication Form.
Beaufort
Composite Technologies developed its own proprietary computer
controlled, heated mold technology for curing molded parts. Layers
or plys are stacked upon each other against the mold and are then
subjected to a controlled consolidating force in the curing method.
Composite
laminate technicians at BCT are trained in the latest techniques
of hand lay-up and have years of experience. This manufacturing
method offers low-cost tooling and simple processing. A Gerber
Cutter is used to cut materials precisely, enabling
better parts by reducing overlap.
BCT
accommodates all phases of complex shaped composite molded parts
including prototyping, master machining, mold creation, part manufacture,
part machining, part finishing, and part painting.
Molded
parts are used in applications which require:
- Dimensional
Stability
- A
High Modulus of Elasticity
- High
Heat Distortion Temperatures
-
Impact Strength
- Smooth
Surface Quality
- Good
Corrosion Resistance
- Excellent
Dielectric Strength
- Low
Water Absorption
Molded
compounds may be designed and created to maximize the above
qualities to meet part design parameters.
Products
that are laminated generally incur some post operation in terms
of sizing, trimming, assembling, drilling of holes, cleaning,
surface finishing, or painting. BCT is able to provide its customers
with such finishings until their parts reach specifications.
