| By
use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), BCT is enabled to determine
exact stresses and displacements in mechanical objects and systems.
BCT also routinely uses FEA in the analysis of many other types of
problems including those related to natural frequencies and seismic
loading.
FEA
has proved to be a very important tool in BCT engineering. It is
used to rapidly and accurately investigate the qualities of different
geometrical structures and laminate orientations, giving BCT engineers
the opportunity to refine and adjust them until an optimal solution
is reached.
The
use of finite element analysis helps in avoiding engineering changes,
answers many trial and error questions, and verifies all functional
or structural requirements. The greatest advantage, however, is
better product safety, improved reliability, and reduced overall
costs for BCT customers.
During
the product development cycle, the results from FEA are applied
in order to redesign and improve possible concerning areas of a
structure. By performing these analyses early in the product development
cycle, costly engineering changes or failures in the later stage
of the product cycle are easily avoided.
